M U Incorporated 7235 High-Voltage Regulator Triode — Untested

Scarce American-made M U Incorporated 7235, produced for specialized high-voltage, military, avionics, industrial, and regulated power-supply applications.

The 7235 is a high-mu triode designed for regulated power supplies and voltage-amplifier circuits operating at high plate potentials. It uses a nine-pin miniature base with a top-cap anode connection. The original engineering data specifies service between approximately 1 kV and 10 kV.

This example shows signs consistent with age and possible previous operation, including faded exterior printing, amber-tan discoloration around the lower glass and base area, and darker pins. The metallic getter remains intact, the top cap is secure, and no obvious cracked glass or broken internal components are visible.

A hand-scribed marking is visible on one internal metal support and appears to read approximately “E2634.” A faint exterior production marking also remains. These markings are shown clearly in the photographs, but no unsupported manufacturing date or code interpretation is being assigned to them.

The tube has not been electrically tested. Its operating condition and remaining service life are unknown, and no NOS or unused claim is made.
